WANGANUI CLUB NEXT SATURDAY’S EVENTS LIST OF ACCEPTANCES Willi a list of 101 acceptors in the eight events io be decided at the Wanganui Trotting Club’s second autumn meeting on Saturday next, there is ample material tor some excellent racing and the fixture bids fair to eclipse the success of last Saturday. In addition, there is the special challenge match race between Impromptu and Harold Legau, in which Harold Logan, will endeavour to turn the tables on his North island The first race is to start at 12 noon and the concluding event is scheduled to be run at 4.55 p.m. it is the intention of the club le- adhere to the schedule time for events on (Saturday. The match race is set down for 1.30 p.m. That well-known trotting writer and broadcaster, Mr. U. E_. Craig, who writes under the guise of “Abaydos, has arrived in Wanganui and will assist at the meeting on Saturday witn a review of the fields and a running commentary on the events, enabling the general public to follow the foituues of their respective fancies. SUCCESS OF WOMEN OWNERS SEVEN WINNERS AT THAMES An interesting feature of the Thames Trotting Club’s meeting was the success achieved by women owners, no fewer than six being represented on the winning lists. Mrs. C. McGregor’s candidates, Peter Junior and Gold Dredge each won a race, Mute scored for Mrs. 1. E. Swectapple, and Mrs. J. Mahoney was successful with (Silver Watch. The wins of Chartcris Bay. Tinokaha and Worthy Nor, who each registered their first victory, placed three new owners on the winning list. Mrs. H. Metcalfe is the owner of Charter! Bay, Tinokaha races in the interese of Miss M. E. Tulloch, and Mrs. C. Maddock is part-owner with Mr, D. Hedley of Worthy Nor. SCENE AT THAMES RUNNING OF NIMBUS DEMONSTRATION AND INQUIRY When Nimbus, who finished fourth in the Goldfields Handicap at the Thames trots on Saturday, returned to the eni closure an angry demonstration was made by a section of the crowd, the horse and driver, A. W. Broughton, being loudly hooted. Nimbus had won the Trotting Cup on Thursday. Mr. A. E. Commons, stipendiary steward, instituted an inquiry and called upon the owner, Mr. E. J. Parkes, and the driver to explain the running of Nimbus, as compared with the first day. After a lengthy and exhaustive inquiry the committee decided to take no action. TROTTING FIXTURES.
