Mr. A. J. Weekes has been re-elected patron of the Wanganci and Old Boys’ Rugby Football Club. Mr. R. G. Taiboys was re-elected president of the Wanganui and Uld Boys’ Rugby Football Club at the annual meeting last night. As a mark of respect to the lute Mr. J. R. Corrigan, late chairman of directors of rhe South Taranaki Shipping Company, flags were flown at half mast on the motor-ships Inaha, Kapuni and Hawera, lying alongside the Patea Wharf on Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. Charles W. Gordon, of Winnipeg, better known to thousands of New Zealanders as the novelist “Ralph Connor,” will arrive in Wanganui next Wednesday. Dr. Gordon’s primary interest today is the present state of the world. He is convinced that the Church now has an opportunity such as it never had since the days of Constantine.
