Engaged at Napier. The two-year-old full-sister t.o Maine (Arausio - Hoy), who will race as Caen, is striking out fairly well in her exercise (says a Napier writer). She is an attractive filly who, with time, may be expected Io turn out above the aver age. She is held under lease by Mr. W. Henderson of Waipukurau, from her breeder, Mr. J. D. Ormond. Her stable associate, Tareha, also the pro perty of Air. Henderson, is gixing at tractive displays which promise well for future engagements. The pair are included in the entrants for the Napier Dark meeting. Top Rank Disappoints. C. Emerson has nominated Top Rank and Tuirau for the. Banks Peninsula meeting. The former has been very disappointing this season, and has hardly been entitled to the big weights allotted him. He is to be tried out as a hurdler and has given fair displays over small fenc.es. Tuirau has been off the scone for a while hax itig a spell 011 her owner’s property and she looks likely Io assist I Io- stable during Hip next few months
