STERLING AND FRANC
LINKAGE INADVISABLE. DISHARMONY WITH DOLLAR. [ British Official Wireless. J RUGBY, Feb. .3. Reports that Al. Flandin would place before Air. Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of the Exchequer, plans for Jinking sterling and the franc are discounted in authoritative quarters. The attitude of the British Government on this subject has already been clearly defined. The view is taken by the Chancellor that stabilisation should not be attempted while the present disharmony between the dollar and franc exists. As a preliminary to that step such a change in price levels as would correct thi£ inharmonious relationship must be awaited.
