NATIONALISM OPPOSED. Received Feb. 5, 9.50 p.m. OTTAWA, Feb. 4. | Opposing the proposal to nationalise the banks by Mr. William Irvine leader of tha United Farmers, Mi Rhodes told the House nf Commons tha if the banks were socialised, the Gov eminent would control banking prin ciples and eventually smash them. H asked what would happen if the Gov eminent, facing an election, had t chose between the country’s good am its own political fate.
