MYSTERY SOLVED
HUMAN REMAINS FOUND | THOSE OF KAI IWI FARMER MISSING o\ ER .10 YEARS. A mystery of over ten years ago wa: solved yesterday as the result of burn ing off of scrub at Kai Iwi, when traceof human remains were found am afterwards identified as those of Air Charles James, farmer, of Kai Iwi, win disappeared in November, 1924. The portion of the property bein<j cleared was the site of a swampy creek which had dried up considerably in the absence of wet weather. One of tin workers noticed a pair of boots in a burnt-off portion and examination r<‘ suited in the remains being identified, Mr. James, when ho disappeared, was 55, and a married man with a family. An extensive search failed to disclose any signs of his whereabouts. On the discovery of the remains yesterday the police were notified and Constable \V. Rogers went out to take charge. An inquest will be held at 4 p.m. to-day before Air. S. Al. Dixon, coroner.
