EFFORT TO RESTORE. EXPERIMENT A FAILURE. LONDON, Jan. 20. A remarkable attempt to revive the lost memory of a club-mate has been made, by members of the Abercarn Rugby Club. The victim, Harry Haines, a miner, was a member of the team which went Lydney last April to play there. On the way he fell out of a motor-bus, suffering concussion. He was unconscious for three weeks, and afterwards could not remember his former life. Haines’ doctor hoped that going in a motor-bus over the same route with his former companions would restore his memory. Accordingly, when the trip was made yesterday his team mates did their utmost to reproduce impressions of the previous journey. They conversed of old times, and pointed out landmarks at the corner where Haines had fallen off the bus. However, Haines did not recognise the route or any of the Lydney players. He said later: “I still remember nothing.” His wife and three children, anxiously awaiting the result of the experiment, are doomed to disappointmen t ____________
