Ten anthracite coal miners were killed in an explosion 1000 feet underground, apparently the result of an accumulation of mine gasses. Fifty-nine others of the 650 working in the shaft were overcome by fumes, but were rescued. One is so seriously ill that he may die, and two men are reported missing.
