SMALL FARM SETTLEMENT

GRANT MADE FOR SCHOOL. WAII'KU, Jan. 17. The settlement of Alatakawau, near Awhitu, Waiiiku, under the small farms scheme, has now advanced a fur ther stage by the approval of a special grant by the Minister of Education, the Hon. S. G. Sini’th, for the erection of a school. Arrangements are already in hand for the erection of the school, with one classroom, which will also serve a number of earlier settlers in the district.
