SMALL FARM SETTLEMENT
GRANT MADE FOR SCHOOL. WAII'KU, Jan. 17. The settlement of Alatakawau, near Awhitu, Waiiiku, under the small farms scheme, has now advanced a fur ther stage by the approval of a special grant by the Minister of Education, the Hon. S. G. Sini’th, for the erection of a school. Arrangements are already in hand for the erection of the school, with one classroom, which will also serve a number of earlier settlers in the district. There are at present six families living at Ma taka wan on sections of about 80 acres each. It is hoped to even'tually settle nine families. The farm build iiiL r - are in course of erection at
