TAURANGA COUNTY WORK. A SUBSIDY OF £12,000. TE PUKE. Jan. 17. Proposals for the tar-sealing of .10 miles of roads in the Maketu Riding of the Tauranga County Council were explained to a meeting of ratepayers held at To Puke last evening. The ehairman, Mr. S. H. MacDougall, ex plained that if a loan of £4OOO were sanctioned it would carry a subsidy of £12,000 from the Main Highways Board. The new sealing would provide a surface 18ft. wide with a width of 2 I ft. on the corners. A resolution was carried supporting the proposal and commending the council for its action in submitting the proposal to the ratepayers.
