Mr. William Green, American Federation of Labour president, asserted that more men are without jobs than a year ago, despite the efforts of the Federal Administration. He said ' that although the Government’s monthly relief payment for 2,229,000 persons was 95,000,000 dollars, that expenditure was “not creating” income to pay their cost. He urged Mr. Roosevelt to invite all industries to co-operate in a general programme to increase production and create jobs.
