Received Oct. 29, 10.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 29 (’ol. Fitzmaurice left Lympne at 7.14 a.m. DISCOVERY OF DAMAGE. Received Oct. 30, J. 30 a.m, LONDON, Oct. 29. Col Fitzmaurice said he was flying at about 230 miles hourly and had passed Liege, when the damage to the wings and undercarriage was discovered. Returning, he dumped 150 gallons of petrol in the Channel to facilitate landing, whereafter he flew to | Croydon for repairs. SECOND TAKE-OFF TlilLl L'E TO OFFICIALS Received Oct. 30, 1.30 a.m. LONDON Oct. 29. Filo.ed by Bonar, the Bellanca took oft' splendidly in under 300 yards. Before bis departure, Col. Fitzmauriee who is acting as wireless operator and navigator, paid a tribute to the help of the Air Ministry officials, and said he could not have been treated better if he had used a British machine.. He hoped to reach Baghdad in ten hours. The Bellanca carried 600 American gallons of petrol.
