Four-ball com- y peitions over 15 holes were played & during the forenoon, and pair matches £ in the afternoon. The following are c the results:—Johns and Marshall lost r to Craig and Sommerville 2 down; Blyth and Robertshaw won from Spencer and Batt 2 and 1; Canavan and Murray lost to Conway and Bretherton 2 and 1; Davies and {Strange J lost to Barton and Moresby 1 down; s Urwin and Bousfield won from Rennie \ and Burgess 1 up; Larsen and Bo wick < lost to Sommerville and Smith 2 down; j Eetliam and Appleton won from Gray and Friedlander 3 up; Johns beat ( Poutawera 4 and 3; Marshall and ( "Wilks all square; Blyth beat Richter 3 and 2; Canavan lost to Barton 2 and x .1; Murray beat Bretherton 3 and 2; f. Davies lost to Moresby 4 and 2; v Strange beat McKenzie 5 and 4; Urwin r lost to Rennie 6 and 3; Bousfield beat Pul ham 5 and 3; Larsen Jost to Andrew ( 5 and 4; Bowick beat Smith 2 up; j Friedlander lost to the course 7 aud 6; Appleton beat Budge 7 and 6. Results: Taumarunui 1.0 matches; Waimarino 10 j matches. The results of the matches among the t ladies were as follows: —Mrs. Windle beat Miss Sommerville 4 up; Mrs. Towler and Mrs. Johnston all square; ( Miss Urwin beat Miss Dennis 1 up; Mrs. Lynch beat Miss Sommerville 7 and 6; Mrs. Robertshaw lost to Mrs. j Bretherton 7 down; Mrs. Windle and Mrs. Towler lost to Mrs. Sommerville and Miss McPherson 4 and 3; Mrs. Fetham and Miss Urwin lost to Miss ( Howard and Miss Johnston 6 and 4; Airs. Webb and Mrs. Lynch lost to Mrs. Burt and Mrs. Moresby 4 and 3; Airs. Robertshaw and Aliss Anderson lost to Airs. Bretherton and Aliss Sommerville 3 and 2. Totals: Taumarunui 5 matches; Waimarino, 3 matches. ' GENERAL. ______ < The death of Air. John Brycrs, who has been living with his son at the Waimarino Hotel for some time, took 1 place on Alonday morning. Air. Bryers was 91 years of age. Air. and Airs. F. L. Lee and family 1 are spending a short holiday at Castlecliff. ; Airs. C. D. Scarrow is at present on ; holiday in Wanganui. Air. ami Airs. J. A. Aird arc at present in Palmerston North.
