They name four motion picture players as contributors to that cause—Lupe Velez, Dolores Del Rio, Ramon Navarro, and James Cagney. Johnny Weismuller declared: “Lupe doesn’t even know the meaning of the word.” Cagney denied the statements categorically, while the others have not commented. Friends declared over a vear ago that 3 Cagney contributed relief to striking 3 agricultural workers in whteh Communist leaders were involved, which probably resulted in the linking of his name with the movement.
