ILLEGAL BETTING
DESIRE TO REDUCE IT. i PLANS FOR CANBERRA. CANBERRA, July 5. As a means of reducing illegal betting here, the chief of the Commonwealth police (Mr. H. E. Jones) has recommended the Attorney-General’s Department to grant a limited number of licenses for starting price betting shops in Canberra.
