RUGBY AFFAIRS. The Management Committee of the Taihape Rugby Jr.ion met on Monday evening w.icn there were' present Messrs. J. quirk (chairman), V. Nicholls, W. O’Utnnor, J. Webb. J. McDona d, L. A. Kebberd, R. Schofield, C. H. Transon (Referees’ Association), Dr. Kronfeld and the secretary (.Mr. C. L. Mullany). A third grade player who was ordered off the field recently for using bad language, appeared before the union. The secretary reported that the player had been warned by the referee (Mr. M. Collins) but continued to use the bad language even after he had been ordered off. There were many parents who objected to bad language and would not allow their boys to play on this account. The player in-question admitted the offence, but explained that he was talking to himself more than to anybody else. As he has already stood down for one playing Saturday it was decided . hat he be cautioned. A reprimand was accordingly administered oy the chairman. In connection with the forthcoming match between Taihape and M anganui on July If, the chairman explained that the train fare of 5s return applied to the general public and not only the team. He wished to make this point perfectly clear. Mr. O’Connor inquired if tickets could be purchased at Utiku and the Isecietary said that he thought that I this could be arranged.
