BUTTER TESTED

DOMINION AND DANISH NEW ZEALAND SUPERIOR INTERESTING EXPERIMENT ( Per Press Association ). HAMILTON, July 4. Results of an interesting experimenl to test the relative merits of Danish and New Zealand butters were made available to-day when samples of the finest grade butters from each country were opened at the New Zealand Co operative Dairy Company’s factory The effect of the experiments is once again to place the New Zealand product a long way ahead of its competitor ir point of view of quality, appearance taste, colour and packing. Recently the company made arrangements for samples of its finest quality butter and Danish finest quality to be bought at random on the Londor market and shipped to the Dominion. Both samples were sent out in cold storage, and kept in the cooler al Auckland on arrival before being forwarded to the Frankton factory. They were packed in a keg and the Danish butter bore the “Lur” brand, recognised as the highest quality manufactured in Denmark. An accompanying certificate indicated that the butter had been made on April 16. After inspection, this butter was pronounced by experienced judges to be definitely scc.»nd giade quality. It would, they affirmed, not be accepted on the local market iu New Zealand. It was oi much higher colour and possessed somewhat ( p a rancid flavour.
