! DANNEVIRKE HUNT CLUB PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY. (By “Kestrel.”) i Excellent Helds figure on the card ; for the (Dannevirke Hunt Club’s meeting to-day, and the prospects lor interesting racing may be considered bright, though a great deal depends on the weather. In view of the approach of the Wellington Pacing Club s meeting, to be held at Trent ham next week, much interest will be taken in Dannevirke form. A Held of about a dozen will contest the Oringi Hack Hurdles, with which the day’s racing opens, and the chances of Transact, Air Laddie and Esteem may be favoured by investors. For the Takapau Novice Stakes .there is a wealth of material, most of it as yet unrcvealed to the racing public. Reports indicate that Flaxen. Bonny Quex and King's Lancer may be among those well backed. Postman is likely to be strongly supported in the Dannevirke Hunt Cup Steeplechase if considered in good trim, while Currajong and Taura Lad are also cer.ain to have friends. In the big Held set down to contest the Rakaiatai Hack Handicap, run over six furlongs, Hybiscus and De I’rop make fully as much appeal as Cawbcen, though the latter has winning form also to commend him. The Kaitoke Handicap should find Royal Bengal in favour, with Princess Doreen and Lady Ronald sure to be well supported. Without knowing the probable riders it would be risky to attempt the task of sorting out the favourite for the Akitio Lady 's Bracelet, but Silent Bill, Rory Mor and Anemometer appeal. To conclude the day’s racing there is the Greenhills Hack Handicap, in, which Sir Nigel. Poniard and Purse mav do as well as any others.
