His dam, T’s.rta was the dam of a good winner ir. Tetrazzini and was hersejf a of the Derby and Oaks winner. F'.gnorinctta. Wanganui promise. l to develop into one. of the greatest thoroughbred breeling centres in the Dominion. Mr. Uarr-ngton will be welcomed bv owners and breeders from over a wide area. Gifts to Jockeys. Some time ago the Victoria Racing Club adnoted a rule relating to gifts t<> jorkevs bv persons other than the owner for whom he was riding. I ndei the new Australian rules for racing a jockey or apprentice shall be fined, suspended from riding, or disqualified foi any period the committee of the club may think fit if he shall accept any pecuniary or other gift or other con sideration in connection with any race in which he shall ride other than froir the owner or owners of the horse he shall ride in such race without the con sent of such owner or owners. It i.also provided that if it be proved tr the satisfaction of the committee oi the principal club that any licensee jockey owns, or has any interest in any racehorse, or in any pony, such jockey shad be disqualified, and any persor acting in the capacity of part ownei with such jockey, or of trainer of suet horse or pony, shall be disqualified. Tommv Donovan’s latest, win again.-l Johnny M‘Kay shows that the ex Taranaki tighter is by no means a spent force. Tommy is a shrewd old wai horse, however and is apparently ada mant, in his decision not to fight over three-minute round , since his bou' with M’Kay was fought over 15 twominute rounds. Tommy has had tw< wins in two starts since his come-back and according to Napier reports h( showed much of his old-time fonr when he disposed of M‘ Kay.
