WEEKLY SITTING HELD. Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M.. presided ; the weekly sitting of the Magistrate Court at Wanganui yesterday mornii and dealt with the following cases:David Dustin (Mr. Young) w; fined £1 for having tailed to affix ne number plates to his motor-car with five days of the due date. Costs totall. 10s. Wall ?r A. Dahl was lined £2 for ha ing driven a motor-car in a mann which might have been dangerous the public. Costs totalled 10s. Mrs. Jean Leydon, licensee of tl Upokongaro Hotel, was lined £3 f< having sold liquor at a time when t. premises were directed to be closed < May 11. Percy Wilmshurst was fine £2 for having supplied liquor at tl Upokongaro Hotel. Costs on the t’. cases totalled 2L’f. Mr. Clark appears for defendants, and entered a plea ■ guilty. Mr. R. AI. IS. Jones represented d who pleaded not guilty. 1 stated that Pitkethley was teachii Greener to drive, and that Greener h; been tn the wheel at the time of tl accident. After hearing the evidence, Air. Sr mo* said he thought Greener guilty < some negligence through his being beginner.
