BANKING MISSION

MR. LEFEAUX FOR AUSTRALIA An important financial mission waß embarked upon last week by Mr. Leslie Lefeaux, Governor of the Reserve Bank uf New Zealand, who wai a passenger by the Union Company’s Makura for Sydney. Although no official statement, had been made concerning Mr. Leteaux's departure, it has been ascertained that ho will spend several weeks in Australia, consulting with financial authorities there, and in particular conferring with the heads of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The mission is part of the plan of welding another link in the chain of Empire Reserve, Banks, and it i» expected that much of Mr. Lefcaux’s time in Australia will be occupied in discussing formulae for co-operation between the Reserve Bank in Now Zealand and the organisation is M* bourne.
