GERMAN SUSPENSION AMERICAN ALLEGATIONS (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) Received June 29, 9.50 p.m. WASHING xO*:, June 28. Cr. Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, responding to the German Note, piaceu the factors allegedly necessitating tue suspension of tne foreign debt service within the control of the German Gov eminent. He charged’ the German Government with creating opposition, in many parts of the world, and arousing anxiety with various phases of German policy, thereby causing foreign creditors to withdraw’ credits, which is interpreted as meaning German mistreatment of the Jews ana merchant sympathiseis ’ retaliation. Mr. Hull also pointed out that the general belief exists that Germany repurchased bonds at depreciated prices while maintaining the existence of the conditions causing this depreciation. Finally, Germany purchased extensively abroad material susceptible to military use, thus using the exchange which might have gone for external obligations GERMAN PAYMENTS. AN ATTEMPT EXPECTED. Received June 29, 10.20 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 28. The United States to-day protested to Germany over discrimination against Americans in suspending external debts payments, asserting that the Government expects Germany to attempt payment.
