FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA MISS BATTEN LEAVES LYMPNE Received May 8, 11.20 p.m. LONDON, May B.* Miss Batten left Lympne at 7 a.m. for Australia. < Miss Batten’s departure was unexpected. Only thiee saw her start from Brooklands at 5.30 a.m. Reaching Lympne at 6.20 a.m., she found that she had forgotten her pack of sandwiches, coffee and electric torch. These were provided while tho machine was refuelling. She intends to make her first stop at Marseilles and hopes to reach Rome to-night. FLIGHT BY INDIANS BOMBAY TO ENGLAND Received May 8, 11.55 p.m. CALCUTTA, May 8. Probably the first flight of its kind in the Empire will take place next month, when four young Indians, members of the Bombay Flying Club, under two English pilots, will fly four aeroplanes from Bombay to England for instruction and license qualification. CENTENARY AIR RACE THE MOLLISONS TO COMPETE LONDON, May 7. The Royal Aero Club has received Mr. Mollison’s and Amy’s formal entry in the centenary air race. ULM’S TASMAN FLIGHT FINE WEATHER AWAITED SYDNEY, May 8. Mr. C. P. Ulm is receiving weather reports thrice daily on the conditions over the Tasman, and as soon as they are favourable the Faith in Australia will leave Richmond on a goodwill flight to New Zealand and back.
