SHOCK FOR DANCERS
EXPLOSION OF GELIGNITE SENSATION AT FRANKTON. I Per Tress Association. < HAMILTON, May 7. A charge of gelignite placed under the side steps of the Frankton Town Hall caused commotion among 400 dancers when it exploded during the progress of a dance on Saturday evening. A section of weather-boarding was blown away, but little damage was done. The building shook with the force of the detonation, but couples were soon reassured and continued dancing. Most of the force of the explosion was spent in the air as the gelignite was not in a confined space. Had the explosive been placed further under the building, the sequel may have entailed more serious proportions.
