BULLS

GENERAL. NEWS. The Maori Tennis Club will hold a dance and euchre party in the Town Hall this evening. Larkin’s Orchestra has been engaged, and the function should be a successful one. The Bulls Town Board will meet on Thursday evening. One matter which will be considered is that of the Public Library. The book section is not being as well patronised as could be desired, and there is a possibility of it being closed down. It is understood that subscribers are meeting on to-mor-row evening to see what can be done about it. Mr. Arthur Way, acting-secretary of the Rangitikei Racing Club, had a busy day yesterday taking nominations for the forthcoming race meeting. At time of writing entries had come in fairly well, and it is expected that satisfactory fields will be seen here on May 19. The course was never in belter order, and the flower-beds and lawns looked very well when inspected during the week-end. The condition of Mr. Bob oCle, of Ohakea, who has been seriously ill with pneumonia, is reported to be very much improved. The condition of Mr. Bob Cole, of Bulls senior Rugby team on Saturday suggests that the selectors are building up a strong fifteen, and much interest will be taken in their meeting with Mangaweka (at Hunterville) on

Saturday next. Bulls and Flock House thirds will play at Bulls on that day, and a bright exhibition of football is anticipated.
