KARIOI INSTITUTE

The fust monthly meeting of the Karioi Women’s Institute was held on Thursday, April 26, Mrs. Strachan presiding. A demonstration of mocassion making was given by Mrs. Greaves, of Ngainatea. The roll call, “My Earliest Recollections,’’ was amusingly responded to. A competition, “four plain scones,” resisted in Mrs. Strachan gaining first place. Mrs. Jackson second, and Miss Pearse third. A dainty afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames Jackson and Harrison. An interesting meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
