PERSONAL. Airs. W. Durham, Wanganui, is visiting her father, Air. G. Macdonald. Alias Dawkins has returned from a visit to Wanganui. Air. A. G. Fitzflerbert, Afarton, who has been visiting Mangaweka for a few days, returned to-day. Mrs. Ken Deighton, Wairoa, s visit ing her mother,, Mrs. Tremby. Air. F. Heise is away on a deerstalking trip. Airs. G. Kreger. Karewarewa, is visiting her daughter. Airs. T. Heise. FIRE BRIGADE. A very enthusiastic meeting of busines.. men was convened by Messrs. W. Watson and H. Johnston to re-organise the local Fire Brigade, a much-needed want to the town. Air. R. Crowther was elected captain, and Air. O. Wilson lieutenant. They were appointed to ferm the brigade from the many volunteers offering. BOWLING. Following Ihe rinsing of the bowling green, a meeting was held, at which it was decided to invite Mr. Bowater of Levin to inspect the green for improve ments for next season. PAINFUL ACCIDENT. u A very painful accident, which fortunately proved not serious, befel tne two small sons of Air. and Airs. A. D. Hathaway, Tekapau. Whilst endeavouring to get a weasel from a stump, they used some blasting powder, which exploded prematurely. They were severely burnt about the face, arms and legs, and one of the boys’ shirt front, was completely burnt off him. After being attended to at the Taihape hospital they were reported to be progressing favourably.
