THE NEW IDEA
Herr Hitler’s demand that all German film actresses should immediately return to their Fatherland to bolster up local art, has met with a poor response from Alarlen e Dietrich, Dorothea Weick and Lilian Harvey. Alarleno has no intention of giving up her Hollywood screen career. Dorothea says she will not give up her contract which employs her in America for five years, and Lilian. Harvey states that she is not beholden to Hitler, as she is an Englishwoman, not a German. Ernst Lubitsch, the famous director, has taken action that speaks louder than words. Ho has taken steps to become an American citizen. This is one of many interesting paragraphs from ‘ ‘ Gossip from Filmland ” in “ The New Idea.” This popular little weekly contains other delightful features, a free pattern and directions for knitting, as well as short stories and articles.
