When the Star shone over Bethlehem, Jesu the Baby slept so sweet, With the light o’er His brow like a diadem, That the shepherds crept in on noiseless feet; The lily nodded upon its stem, The oxen hushed their plaints in the stall, And with gold and frankincense and gem, Came the Wise Men, standing silent all, —lsabel Maude Peacocke.
