In an address to the Farmers* Union, Mr. David Jones (chairman of the Meat Board) gave figures showing the effect of the quota system on Argentine exports to Britain for the year ending March, 1932. Mutton and lamb totalled 5,971,405 carcases. The reduction for the present calendar year i« I, carcases, and next year it will be 2,013,002. Beef will be re duced from 87,179 quarters by 29,244 quarters. The United Kingdom importi of foreign bacon Inst year totalled 11, and next year will be reduced to 4,099,755 cwt. Air. Jones said that the Dominion pork and bacon industry was increasing remarkably. Tho killing in the first six weeks of last season were 13,000, and for the same period thi year 31,000.
