i MELBOURNE INMAN'S VISIT I [ Per tress Association. | WELLINGTON, July 31. Melbourne Inman, for twelve years world’s professional billiards champion, set foot in Wellington again for the first time since 1912, this evening, when he arrived by the Wanganella from Sydney. During a tour of Australia he met Horace Lindrurn’s nephew Walter, and discovered in him a .snooker player who, he believes, has no equal in the world. Such is his faith in him that he is returning to Melbourne and Horace is to accoinpany him to London for a tour of the Old Country. Young Lindrum has already made an amazing break of 139 at snooker, while in. tho <course of billiards matches with Inman be has made several breaks of over 300. Later in the evening, Inman attended the final of the Wellington amateur championship and presented the trophies when Angus Duncan (Y.M.C.A.\ 500, beat S. M. G. Simpson (G.P.0.), 294, in the final.
