Atalcolni Hunt, who was injured in a fall from a tree recently, recovered consciousness on Friday and shows signs of considerable improvement. OLD-TIME PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS DANCE. At a combined meeting of the Tutaemn Ladies’ Hockey Club and Old Bovs’ tootball Club, held on Friday night, arrangements were made to hold an oldtime plain and fancy dress dance in the Druids Hall, on Monday, August 21. This will bo the first of its kind to bo held in Marton for some time and the committee intend making every effort to ensure a most successful function. M.U. 1.0.0. F. LOYAL MARTON LODGE. The usual fortnightly meeting of the above lodge was held "on Friday evening. there being a fair attendance. Reports showed two members wore on sick-list, several having recovered. There are no serious cases. Correspondence included a copy of the amendments to General Rules made at the B.M.C. at New Plymouth. Some, arc of an important and farreaching nature. One. new member was proposed. Business being concluded at au early hour, the lodge was closed and .supper and dancing indulged in. RANGITIKEI RUGBY Senior Old Boys 11, Hunterville S. Owing to Rata having forfeited tG Athletic, there was no senior game on Alarton Park, where Athletic thirds easily defeated Old Boys by 23 points to nil. Old Boys played throughout with only thirteen players, so it was only to be expected that they had little chance of victory. AL Wysocki, K. Gatrell, L. Moss, C. Johnstone and A. Any northern player unable tv play is to ring 20D Hunterville, ur southern players, Air. K. A. Williams. UNVEILING OF MEMORIAL TABLET The high esteem in which the late Rev. Howard Vincent Kitcat was held by the parishioners of St. Stephen's Church was exemplified by the large congregation at the church on Sunday morning, when a special service was hold to commemorate the unveiling ol a tablet to the memory of the late Rev. Kitcut, who was vicar of the Alaiton parochial district fur fourteen years. Special hymns wore sung by the choir, including the anthem, “Conic, at Times, a Stillness.” The Lessons were read by Mr. J. W. Marshall and Mr. R. P. Sherriff, and an eloquent sermon was preached by the Rev. Canon Williams, who referred in inspired terms to the good work performed in the cause ot Christianity by the late Rev. Kitcat. In the afternoon a special service was also conducted by the Rev. Canon Williams at Turakina, at which the St. Stephen’s Choir sang the same hymns an<l anthems as at the morning service.
