RUSSIAN GOODS
LANDED IN ENGLAND. EXPLANATION GIVEN. LONDON, May 16. In the House of Commons, the Hon. W. Runciman, answering a question, admitted that certain consignments of Russian timber, butter, and poultry had recently been permitted to land in Britain under license on the ground that they had been paid for before the embargo came into force.
