LORRY CRASHES 15 FEET

While endeavouring to negotiate a sharp bend in the Frasertown Road this afternoon a lorry, driven by Joyce Mcßobert, single, aged 30, cither got out of control or tho steering gear jammed, resulting in the vehicle crash ing through a bridge to a creek bed 15 feet below, landing with the wheels uppermost. The driver was killed instantly. Two passengers suffered injuries. Rubena Marsh, single, suffered severe shock and hack injuries and was taken to hospital. Scotty Walker suffered facial injuries and shock, but was able to proceed home after medical attention. Tho late Miss Mcßobert was a certificated nurse, having been on the staffs of the Blenheim. Nelson, Wellington and Napier hospitals.
