EXCHANGE EQUALISATION

INCREASE IN THE FUND. CHANCELLOR’S EXPLANATION. Received May 10, 7.45 p.m LONDON, May 9. The Chancellor of the Exchequer Mr. Neville Chamberlain, replying to the House of Commons debate on tho Exchange Equalisation Fund, said that tho situation had been described as war, but it was not war between Britain and any other country; it was war against certain individuals who, for selfish reasons, had attempted to use tho exchange to Britain’s detriment. To make the public aware of how the fund was being used, would be to give tho very information that the speculators desired to have.
