PASSENGER LICENSES NO. 5 AUTHORITY. RENEWALS GRANTED. The following passenger licenses for motor services were dealt with by the No. 5 Licensing Authority yesterday. Edward Sayers, Marton to Marton Junction, renewal granted with deletion of one run 5.30 and the 11.30 a.m. run when the daylight limited is not running. Fares to be the same a s last year, with the provision that children under three be free; between 3 and 12 half fare. All passengers over 12 are to be charged full fare. George S. Chrichton, Huntorville to Wanganui and return, via Marton, renewal granted. Children’s fares to be observed as laid down by the Authority in other cases. Special arrangements may be made with the Education Board or parents regarding the carriage of • lyldren to and from school. Webb Motors, Ltd., Raetihi to Pipiriki, seasonal license renewed for three days a week from December 15, 1933, to April 30, 1934. Authority’s conditions regarding children’s fares to be observed. Webb Motors, Ltd., Chateau Tongariro to the House Boat, seasonal license renewed, three days per week from December 12. 1933, to April 15, 1934. Children’s fares as laid down in other cases to bo observed. Webb Motors, Ltd., Chateau Tongariro to Natural Park Station, continuous license renewed from March 1, 1933. to February 28, 1934. Children’s fares as ordered to be observed. A rebate of 2s 6d may be made when 12 or more persons are carried. Webb Motors, Ltd.. Chateau Tcngariro to Wanganui, seasonal license renewed from November 1, 1933 to April 30, 1934. Same time-table as last year, but trips may be cancelled when no passengers are offering. Webb Motors, Ltd., Raetihi to Ohakune Junction, continuous license renewed; time-table the same as before, subject to alterations necessitated by any change brought about in the running of the Main Trunk trains. Provisions regarding children’s fares to be observed. lheo Baker, Raetihi to Wanganui, renewal granted. Charges for children to bo observed as the Authority has ordered in all other cases. Special arrangements may be made to carry children to and from school. Nicholls Transport, Ltd., Taihapc to Taihape, East and West routes (two applications), continuous licenses renewed. Children’s fares, as applied to other cases to be observed. Raetihi Co-operative Dairy Co., Raetihi to Pipiriki, new license granted for 12 months. Fare of ss, or proportionate charges according to length of journeys. Children’s fares to be the same as laid down in other cases. ►Schedule of charges for parcels to be submitted to the Authority for approval. A. J. Henley, Maugamahu to Wanganui, renewal of continuous license granted on same lines as last year. Children’s fares as laid down by the Authority in cases above mentioned to be observed. Martin and Vernon, Ltd., Wanganui to Marton Junction, new license granted on the same terms as that issued to Martin and Vernon last year. Time-table to be the same except in the event of an alteration in the running of the Wellington-Auckland express, when the motor service will conform to such alteration. Children -s fares to be as laid down in other cases. Wanganui Corporation Tramways, ’bus route from Post Office to St. John’s Hill, renewal of continuous license granted, the conditions to be the same as last year except that the route is to be via Liverpool Street ami Grey Street instead of Forgusson Street. Wanganui Corporation Tramways, ’bus routes in case of necessity from the Post Office to Wanganui East, to Aramoho, to Castlecliff, Maria Place to Durio Hill, to Kiwi Street, Wanganui East, the Observation ’bus and Post Office to racecourse, renewal of continuous license granted on the same terms as last year. The Authority agreed that in the case of the city ’buses the children’s fares would be as follow: Up to three years, free; from three to 14 years (not 12), half faro; passengers over 14 years of age, full fare. Gordon W. Barnes, Koroniti to Wan ganui, renewal of continuous license granted. Children’s fares to be as laid down in other cases, the age limit to be 12. Special arrangements may be made in respect to children carried to and from school. Wanganui River Services, Wanganui. A tone, Koriniti, renewal of a con tinuous license granted. Schedule of parcels charges have been approved and the company granted the right to carry parcels which was not granted last year. Children’s fares to be as laid down in other cases, the age limit to bo 12. Certain reductions in fares were also approved. Decision was reserved in the case of Hodson’s Pioneer Motor Service, Wanganui to New Plymouth and that of Henry R. Anderson, Te Hora to Stratford. The Authority hopes to give its decision in the latter case at Te Kuiti and will endeavour to come to a decicibion with regard to Messrs. Hodson’s before June 1.
