OHAKUNE
BURGLARY. Another case of shop breaking occurred at Ohakune Junction between Saturday night and Sunday. Mr. W. L. Jones, general draper left his premises intact on Saturday night but on Sunday a passer-by noticed a broken window and on investigation it was found that a quantity of goods had been removed. The value of the articles is said to bo between £2OO and £3OO. MAGISTRATE’S COURT. The monthly sitting o f the Magistrato’s Court was held on Tuesday, Mr R. AL Watson, 8. M., presiding. Peter Berney, for. dealing with a firearm contrary to Section 7 of the Arms Act, 1928, was convicted and fined 10s and costs. Sydney Johnston and Percy Shicl, for riding bicycles on the footpath in Miro Street, were ordered to pay court costs and 10s (id solicitor’s fee. W. p Larsen was convicted on a charge of arrears of maintenance of £l5 15s and was sentenced to three weeks in Wellington gaol, warrant to be suspended on payment of £5.
Judgment by default with costs was given for plaintiff in the following cases:—W. Fleming and Go. v. P. C. Feck, £3 10s; W. Fleming and Co. v. C. L. Snowball, £5 6s 8d; Ohakune Borough Council v. G. G. Hume, £5 3s 6<l. P. Fcck was order to pay J. L. Lugton 15s per month, in default seven days in Wanganui gaol on a judgment summons.
