FEWER UNEMPLOYED
POSITION IN BRITAIN. FIGURES FOR APRIL. [ British Official Wireless. 1 RUGBY, May 8. A reduction of 78,511 in the number of persons unemployed, compared with the March figures, is disclosed in the return for the past month. The total unemployed comprised 2,070,714 wholly unemployed; 527,418 temporarily stopped; and 99,402 normally in casual employment. The total on April 24 included 2,169,128 men, 68,858 boys, 405,700 women, and 53,948 girls.
