WEDDING

MALCOLM—FAGAN A wedding of interest to many resi dents of the Sandon district was solemnised at Springdale Church, Waitoa, recently, when Vera Kathleen Fagan, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Fagan, Waitoa, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Donald Petrie Malcolm, third son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Malcolm, of Waitoa. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride in colours to tone with, the bridesmaids’ frocks. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. B. J. Hughes, Miss F. Hunter presiding at the organ. Tho bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a graceful frock of ivory hicrctia crepe with a fitted rucked bodice attached to a six-gored skirt and an ivory lacc coatee. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and white dahlias tipped with pink and maidenhair fern. Her veil, which formed a short train, was of ivory embroidered net arranged with a coronet of orange blossoms. Two bridesmaids were in attendance, Miss Dolly Fagan (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Joyco Fagan, of Mor rinsville, cousin of the bride. The former wore a powder-blue georgette frock cut on the same lines as that of the bride, but with scalloped crepe collar attached and scalloped hem line finished with a double row of frills. Miss Joyce Fagan wore a frock of pale pink geoigette fashioned on the same lines. Both wore white felt hats and black satin shoes with stockings to tone with their frocks and carried bouquets of pale pink and blue chrysanthemums with maidenhair fern. Little Rae Fagan, sister of the bride, was also in attendance as flower-girl and looked sweet in a maize crepe-de-chine ankle-length frock, made in tho same style as the bridesmaids and wore a poke bonnet and carried a basket of pink begonias with touches of blue. Mr. Gordon Malcolm and Mr. Bruce Malcolm, brothers of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man and groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Majestic Tearooms, Te Aroha. Mrs. Fagan received her guests to the number of sixty, wearing a frock of navy silk morocain, navy hat and carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and marigolds. Mrs. Malcolm molrVr of the bridegroom, wore a frock of brown-figured morocain with brown hat, fur and carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and marigolds. Guests were present from Auckland. Te Awamutu, Waikato and Sanson. Numerous telegrams of congratulation were received. A beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, which was much admired, was made by Mrs. H. J. Fagan, of Sanson, aunt of the bride, and was decorated and iced by Miss P. Fagan, of Snnson. The usual toasts were honoured and the happy couple left amid showers of confetti. Tho bride’s travelling frock was of royal blue elephant crepe, madonna blue cloth coat wilh silver fur collar and grey felt hat. Their future home will be at Waitoa.
