WEDDINGS
DREYER—ROMER St. Joseph’s Church, Aramoho, was the scene of a very pretty wedding recently, when Ethel Bell, youngest daughter of Mr. H. A. Romer and the late Mrs. Romer, of Christchurch, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Ferdinand Russell, only son of Mr. and Mrs. 11. F. Dreyer, of Wanganui. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Seymour, with Miss Burr kindly olHciating at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride.
The bride, ■ entering the church on the arm of Air. C. McCrossin, an old friend of the bride, who officiated in the absence of the bride’s father, wore a charming gowm of ivory crepo satin, cut on classical lines. The embroidered tulle veil was kindly lent by Mrs. C. McCrossin, of Wellington, while the train was lent by Mrs. 8. Pascoe, also of Wellington. The brido carried a sheaf of chrysanthemums, cactus dahlias and ferns.
The bride was attended by Miss Ina King (Wanganui), chief, and Miss Margaret Knight (Wellington), as bridesmaids, both wearing model frocks ot powder blue georgette with hats and shoes to tone, carrying sheafs of pink rosebuds and maidenhair fern, while wee Shirley Webster, flower girl, wore an early Victorian frock of shell pink crinkly crepe and dainty cap to match. The bridegroom was attended by Air. J. A. AlcCash, of Invercargill, as best man, and Mr. H. Campbell, of Halcombe, as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Elrick Lounge where, in the absence of the bride’s aunt, the bridegroom’s parents entertained the guests. Mrs. Dreyer received the guests dressed in a charming model frock of black morocain and angel skin lace wdth hat and posy to tone. The happy couple were the recipi cuts of many beautiful gifts, including a three-tier wedding cake, the gift of the bridegroom’s mother. The bride and bridegroom later left by train for Auckland and Napier. The bride was charmingly attired in a Lido blue costume, hat and shoes to tone, with a fur throwover, the gift of the bridegroom.
