POPPE—WING

A quiet, but pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride’s parents, Alakirikiri South, on Wednesday evening, Alay 3, the contracting parties being Grace Evelyn, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wing, and Jack Haley, eldest son of Airs. F. F. Poppe, Pukepapa Road, Alarton.

The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a neat, black barathea costume, with a black toque relieved with orange trimmings, and carried a beautiful bouquet consisting of cream chrysanthemums, apricot shaded roses, and maidenhair fern with cream and apricot ribbon streamers. The bridesmaid, Aliss Alary Wing, wore a pretty frock of pink floral moracaine, with hat to match, and carried a similar bouquet. Air. N. Poppe carried out the duties of best man, and the officiating clergyman was the Rev. D. Alelvor.

The reception, at which the usual toasts were honoured, waj held in the spacious dining room, which had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride’s mother received the guests in a navy blue floral moracaine frock, and carried a posy of bronze chrysanthemums and autumn foliage. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black silk morocain frock, relieved with white, and carried a similar posy.

After the reception the happy couple left by car on a tour of the north, amid showers of confetti, and a bombardment of good wishes. The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a gold signet ring. The bouquets were made and presented by Airs. Gus. Friedrich, aunt of the bride.
