CHINESE KEEPER FINED. [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 7. A Chinese, Wong Lok, aged 55, and five Europeans, were arrested on gambling charges as the result of a visit by detectives to premises at Grey’s Avenue. They appeared in the, Police Court later before Air. W. R. McKean, S.M. Wong Lok pleaded guilty to a charge of keeping the premises as a common gaming house. Tho magistrate said it seemed almost imposible stop pakapoo offences. Accused was fined £6O, in default thr*’? months’ imprisonment, and was allowed 14 days in which to make pay ment. The Europeans found on the premises wore convicted and discharged on tho undertaking not to be found on pakapoo premises again.
