GIRLS’ COLLEGE SPORTS

RACES AT WANGANUI EAST HIGH STANDARD MAINTAINED. The Wanganui Girls’ College held their annual sports yesterday afternoon on. the grounds at Wanganui East, a largo number of parents, friends and old girls being present. Although the weather w r as not sunny, the sky being overcast, the day was pleasantly warm and well-suited for the exercises during the afternoon. Competition was of a good standard and some excellent races were witnessed, many close finishes being contested and one or two dead-heats. Everything was well conducted, reflecting credit on those managing the programme, while the ability the girls showed was an indication of the a. jr f, j of Mrs. Cleland’s instruction.
