REGENT THEATRE

“LOVE ME TO-NIGHT” “Love Mo To-night,” now at the Regent, is delightfully light, the story simple, while the singing includes two catchy numbers which had the audience swinging with the time. Scenes in Paris with the wakening of the morning form the opening of the film. During that morning he was told that the credit of a noble who had ordered more than enougn suits was worth nothing. Maurice leaves for the chateau to derpand payment. Even before Maurice reaches it he met the princess living there, played by Jeannette MacDonald and, quite naturally for him, fell in love with her. It was because he wanted to bo near Jeannette that he consented to an imposture when the penniless vicomte, caught in an embarrassing position, introduced Maurice as the Baron Courteline and even went so far at one stage to suggest the possibility of royalty. Eventually Maurice’s true identity was discovered and quite an amusing and interesting turn is given to the film after the princess had given him her heart and promised to marry him no matter who or what he was. “Corsair” To-morrow A thrilling story of adventure on the high seas, “ bootlegging” and piracy, is told in the fine production, “Corsair,” which will open a season at the Regent Theatre to-morrow. The acting of the cast leaves nothing to be desired, the principal role being capably filled by Chester Morris, who appears as an allAmerican football half-back, who starts his business career in Wall Street only to encounter th e ruthlessness of a certain financier. In order to circumvent the powerful multi-millionaire he turns to modern piracy on the Californian coast and thus not only brings him to his knees, but wins his arrogant daughter. In support of Mr. Morris is an actress who will be remembered for her performances under the name of Thelma Todd.
