ARCHITECTS MEET

ANNUAL MEETING HELD ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual general meeting of the Wanganui-Taranaki district branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects was held on Thursday afternoon. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: President. Air T. H. Bates (New Plymouth); vice-president, Air R. Edwards (Palmerston North); secretary and treasurer, Air R. G. Talboys (Wanganui); auditor, Air J. Duffell (Wanganui); committee, Alessrs A. R. Allen (Palmerston North), 11. V. S. Griffiths (New Plymouth), T. 11. James (Wanganui), F. Alessenger (New Plymouth), R. Hood (Palmers ton North), C. N. Hood (Wanganui), and J. T. Alannix (Now Plymouth). The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted and various matters of interest to the profession were discussed.

It was decided at a recent meeting of the officers of the Wanganui Pipe Band ‘.hat if a piping contest is held at the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association the Wanganui band will co-operate in giving all the assist anve it can. Messrs J. G. Duncan and A. Richardson, with Pipe Major Thomson, were chosen to represent the band on anv committee that might, be set up in regard to Highland events at the show. If a contest is held a medal for open competition Tor piping will be offered, and there will also be tho Fleming Memorial Aledal for novices’ piping.
