PUKEKOHE CANDIDATES
PUSS MOTH AND TRUE BLOOD. The sole Pukekohe representative in the Champion Hack Plate at Avondale to-day is Puss Moth, a hack who displayed a rare burst of speed in his two outings at the last Great Northern meeting. This colt was given his final gallop on the Pukekohe course on Thursday morning, the course proper on the rails being available, with the track in excellent order. Ho moved very smartly and was reported to have made excellent time. A repetition of his mid-winter form must cause Puss Moth to be seriously considered in his Avondale engagements and at other fixtures approaching, for he looks a much better horse than when ho last raced, over four months ago. Ho has an much pace that he is certain to be able to obtain a good position early ami this should be of incalculable benefit in a contest of this description, while the manner in which he hung on over seven furlong* —the same distance ns to-day’s race—indicates that the distance will not hamper him. Another Avondale candidate who has been shaping fairly well in his work at Pukekohe is True Blond, and he is to keep hi« engagement in the Avondale Cup. While getting nn in age tho chestnut looks in better condition tKan when ho showed up in his races nt Wei lington, and in the event of a soft track lining in evidence to-dav he may I shape better than anticipated. Preserve eggs this (loan, economical wav use SITARLAND’S “MOA ” BRAND EGG PRESERVATIVE. No (trouble or mess. Keeps eggs fresh for mouth?. Does not affect the flavour.* c
