DAIRY COMPANY MEETING 1 The thirty-fourth annual meeting of Ihe shareholders ot the itungirvuhiaUuahlno Dairy Company v.as held on Saturday, the chairman of directors, Air. W. E. Pomlicrton, presiding. The directors’ report was- “The butter manufactured for the season was slightly over 219} tons, and over 30 | tons more than made last season, the increase resulting through a greater number of cows being milked ami also fairly favourable weather condit.ons. There was a decrease in the average grade of the butter, the average tor the past year being 94.04 as against 94.28 the previous year. From inquiries made it appears that the experience of this company is fairly general, but it is hoped that the lower figures are due more to a lowering of the grading basis than to an actual carcase in quality. That the butter |imder fixed conditions is still able to hold its own with other maker* freely dor.iouMtratefl at the recent National Dairy Show at North, vherc three firsts and six Wconds wel-o received, and at the Auckland Show, where two firsts were gained, including the New Zealand championship. Despite efforts made to secure the highest returns for the butter on an f.o.b, basis, it only averaged 10.77 d a lb. us against practically Id per lb. more last season. The company paid its suppliers ll|d per lb. this season, as against la last }eur. As soon as funds are available H is proposed to distribute a further 2.1 per pound on all butter-fat supplied during the month of December, Id per lb. for the month of January to Juno inclusive, and |d per lb. oxer the whole season. These payments will bring the pay-out over the whole season to 11 Jd over all grades. The directors recommend a payment of 5 per cent, on all paid up share capital by way ol a dividend. In January the resignation ot Mr. JS. Stent, one of the senior directors of the board, was received with regret after his many years of service to the board, and Air. A. J. Marliu was appointed to fill the vacancy. Ihe retiring directors were Alcssrs. E. W. Pemberton and F. T. Thompson, who were re-elected unopposed. LODSE MEETING I N.G. Bro. P. Martin presided over J a large attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal ALU. 1.0.0. F. .Lodge on Wednesday night. ()ne candidate was initiated into the order, and two were proposed for membership. After the mooting a sl. »rt. dance was held and a tasty supper scivcd. C.IRD TOURNAMENT The second of a series of card tournaments, to raise funds for the Anglican Church, was hold on Saturday evening. There was an average attendance. The su.-eossful plavors wore: Cribbage, Mrs. Deihl and Mr. G. Kreger: consolations, Mrs. Pemberton and Mr. N. Trumm; euchre. Aliss C.Aleads and Mr. E. Kronast; consolations, Miss M. Harris and Mr. AL Kreger. FOOTBALL Tho senior football team playing at Kimbolton on Saturday was successful in defeating that team by 20 point! to 10. The junior team, playing at Apiti, was defeated by 14 points to
