A SPLENDID GIFT
OFFER BY SIR TRUBY KING HANDS OVER HIS HOME I ’ PLUNKET SOCIETY TO BENEFIT [per Press Association. J WELLINGTON, July 28. The intention to hand over his beautiful Wellington home, on Melrose Heights, and adjoining the ground ot the Karitane Home, to the Blanket Society for a maternity hospital, was announced by Sir Truby King at the annual meeting of the Royal New Zea land Society lor the Health of Women and Children, to-night. The announcement made a deep impression on those present and at the. conclusion of Sir Truby’s speech, Doctor Platts-Mills asked that all present stand in honour of a great man who had been such an inspiration to all. Sir Truby said the gift would bo subject to the consent of his executor, the Public Trustee, who had to see that his daughter was safeguarded, but he thought, the property would be hau led over within a year. He added that the whole of the furniture, including the piano, pictures and other valuables, would bo included in the gift.
