BAKERS WIN RUGBY MATCH
BUTCHERS MEET DEFEAT. "SAUSAGES” AND "LOAVES.” Meeting in a friendly combat on the Rugby field yesterday, the venue being one of the racecourse grounds, the Wanganui Bakers’ representative fifteen inflicted a crushing defeat on the Wanganui Butchers’ team, winning by 17 points to 6. It is reported that the match was strenuously contested but the best spirit was much in evidence, both during play and afterward, when the teams adjourned to the Rendezvous where the “Sausages” entertained the “Loaves” to a dinner.
