STEAMER BADLY DAMAGED

COLLISION WITH SUBMARINE. PASSENGERS LAND SAFELY. LONDON, June 28. While the submarine Rainbow was leaving Portland Harbour, she came into collision with the s.s. Premier, a small pleasure steamer. The Rainbow sustained only superficial damage, but the steamer was holed on the starboard side. She returned to Weymouth, and her passengers were transferred to the submarine and subsequently landed. The steamer, leaking badly, was towed into Weymouth by two motorboats. She had 150 passengers aboard, but no one was hurt.
